The participants in the training course “Safety Assessment of Existing and New Nuclear Installations for External Hazards” held in Belgrade 04 – 08 March this year, took the opportunity yesterday to visit Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate (SRBATOM).
During the visit, the representatives of the Directorate acquainted the course participants and our guests with the activities and measures comprising the response in case of emergency events, the early warning system, as well as the exercises the Republic of Serbia has participated so far.
This training course is a part of the European Commission project “Training and tutoring for experts of the Nuclear Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) and their Technical Support Organisations (TSOs) for developing or strengthening their regulatory and technical capabilities – MC3.01/20” which was launched in 2022.
The project aims at ensuring the training and tutoring for the employees and the experts in the NRAs and TSOs in non-EU countries, and, thus, at supporting and strengthening their capabilities and capacities with regard to their tasks and duties in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety. Several training and tutoring (T&T) activities will be carried out over its nearly three-year duration, which will serve to ensure assistance from EU NRAs and TSOs in developing and maintaining competences and skills related to the different areas of regulatory responsibilities and functions, transfer of knowledge and good practice.
