This year’s 32nd Symposium of Radiation Protection Society of Serbia and Montenegro, which is held 04-06 October 2023 in Budva, Montenegro, was officially opened by Vladimir Janjic, Assistant Director and Head of Inspection at Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate (SRBATOM).
In his opening address, Vladimir Janjic emphasized the importance of the Radiation Protection Society of Serbia and Montenegro and pointed at the great contribution of the topics and papers presented at this Symposium.
Janjic said that the Directorate will give its full support to carrying on with the good practice by participating in and organizing public debates in the field of radiation protection, and ensure its full support by improving and strengthening the regulatory oversight.
As in the previous years, the SRBATOM representatives presented their professional papers and gave presentations on the mechanism and functioning of regulatory inspection oversight, further upgrading the legislative framework in the use of radiation sources in medicine, as well as harmonizing the professional terminology in the field of radiation and nuclear safety and security.
This year’s Symposium also marks 60 years since the onset of the organized affiliations in the field of radiation protection in this region.
