The representative of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate participated in a three-day workshop on the implementation of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT) which was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) 25-27 June in Tirana, Albania.
This three-day event was composed of a number of lectures held by the international experts, interactive sessions and case study sessions serving to analyze all stages during the investigation of the committed criminal offences given under Article 2 of the Convention.
With the aim of improving the education of the staff at the state authorities of the Republic of Serbia that are competent for acting pursuant to the ICSANT, the representative of the Directorate proposed a workshop which would be organized in our country and which would follow the realization of a two-week advanced course on nuclear law to be held in Belgrade 28 October – 08 November 2024. This proposal had positive reactions and provides for a basis for the Directorate to move towards its realization.
The Directorate makes continuous efforts and takes steps in order to strengthen the education in the field of nuclear law and relevant regulations regulating radiation and nuclear safety and security in general.
