Sladjan Velinov, Director of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate and Chairman of the Managing Board of the Nikola Tesla Museum, had a meeting today with H.E. Akira Imamura, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Serbia.
Director Velinov took this opportunity to take His Excellency to visit the Nikola Tesla Museum since the Ambassador expressed the wish to visit this unique scientific and cultural institution in Serbia and worldwide during his last visit to the Directorate.
After the visit to the museum and acquainting with the life and the achievements of this great Serbian scientist and inventor, the Ambassador invited Director Velinov to visit the Japanese Embassy in the forthcoming period. The Ambassador also invited the Nikola Tesla Museum and the Republic of Serbia to participate in the next World Expo 2025 that will be held in Osaka, Japan.
At the proposal of Serbian-Japanese Society, the exhibition of the Nikola Tesla Museum was presented in the Museum of Science “Solar” in Hofu City in Japan on 26 January 2019. On the occasion, around three tones of exhibits arrived from the museum to Hofu, including light panels, laboratory models, Tesla coils, and the Embassy of Serbia lent Tesla bust.
As a reminder, in August last year, the Ambassador of Japan was a guest of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate in connection with the release of waste water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
