The Report on Public Exposure to Ionizing Radiation from the Environment in 2020 has been published on SRBATOM’s website. The report was compiled based on the radioactivity monitoring results gathered from the samples of air, precipitation, surface water, foodstuffs and feeding stuff, which was conducted the laboratories of the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad, and the Institute of Occupational Health “Dr. Dragomir Karajovic”.
Based on the monitoring results, it has been confirmed that the effective dose from produced radionuclides, which had been ingested or inhaled, was below 0,01 mSv, which ultimately means that the public radiation risk from produced radionuclides in the environment is negligible.
