The high representative of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Jing Zhang, Section Head at the Division for Europe of the Department of Technical Cooperation with his team of experts were today the guests of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate.

At today’s meeting, as the first of a number of the planned ones for the following period between the IAEA experts and the representatives of the Directorate, Sladjan Velinov, Director of the Directorate presented the work of the Directorate and its competencies in the field of nuclear safety and security, placing a special attention to the cooperation between the Directorate and the IAEA in the implementation of national, reginal and interregional projects.

This meeting reaffirms good cooperation and partnership between the Republic of Serbia and the Directorate on one hand and the IAEA on another. At the same time, today’s meeting and the visit of the IAEA delegation verifies the readiness of our experts and professionals to accept, adopt and apply their knowledge and experience to develop further this social and scientific field.

This meeting came as a preparation for another meeting held in the Government of the Republic of Serbia afterwards, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Mining and Energy and Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate.
