As part of the project INT9182 – Sustaining Cradle-to-Grave Control of Radioactive Sources in the organization of the IAEA and Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration (SNSA), 22 – 26 July 2019 Ljubljana hosted the Interregional Meeting on Conditioning and Consolidation of Disused Sealed Radiation Sources Inventories. The representatives form 25 countries, including Serbia, took part in the meeting.
The meeting was an opportunity for the participating countries to exchange their experiences on conditioning of the sealed radiation sources and consolidation of the inventories of the sources that are no longer in use. During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Slovenian Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (ARAO) in Ljubljana. The IAEA experts also briefed the participants on the new project cycle ahead, while the participants gave their feedback and expressed their countries’ perceived needs that are related to the topics covered by the project.
