The Director of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate (SRBATOM), Sladjan Velinov, together with the high state representatives, the dignitaries of the Orthodox Church and other congregations, attended today the ceremony marking 240 years since the establishment of the Clinical Hospital Centre of Zemun.
On the occasion, the Director, Mr. Velinov, was awarded the ceremonial plaque for the contribution to the work of this institution, which bears the attribute of being the oldest hospital in Serbia.
The Zemun Hospital, today’s Clinical Hospital Centre Zemun, was founded in 1784 and, during two centuries of its existence, has always been a pioneer in the application of a number of advance medical achievements and competences in this region.
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, took this opportunity to express her utter gratitude to all the doctors on the selfless efforts they invested to make this hospital a symbol of health care and safety for all our citizens.
“Your doctors, nurses, technicians and any other hospital staff fought for every life by providing care and support to patients in the most difficult times for them, their families, and our country as well”, said Ms Brnabic, particularly emphasizing her appreciation of the heroic efforts invested by these doctors during COVID-19 pandemic.
She pointed out that the Government of Serbia invested a total of RSD 853.8 million in the past six years in order to improve and modernize the working and treatment conditions in this healthcare institution.
